We are an Acts 1:8 church!

As a part of our purpose and strategy to fulfill the Great Commission, we seek to begin in our community and reach out all over the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are committed to the Southern Baptist Convention Cooperative Program and many other missions endeavors. Our Missions Committee is very active and has the following three-fold purpose statement:

Educate -- Lead our church to study and be concerned about the commands of Scripture concerning missions and the missionary endeavor. Lead our church to learn new methods and means of reaching around the world with the gospel.

Equip -- Lead our church to be prepared, trained, and ready to be involved in missions activities and trips.

Engage -- Lead our church to pray for missions, give toward missions, and go on mission trips and activities. We seek to be engaged in missions at every level of the Acts 1:8 commission.

"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

 Acts 1:8

Sharing the Peace of Jesus -- An evangelistic emphasis involving a prayer-drive through our community followed by a gospel distribution and invitation to our Easter activities.

Judea Projects

Northwestern State University Baptist Collegiate Ministry -- We are closely involved in the work of the BCM on the NSU campus. In the past our church gave toward the new building that exists on the campus and now is involved in feeding students at least once a semester on a given Wednesday. We see this investment in the Kingdom as vital to the future ministry of this church. There have been a number of NSU BSU/BCM students who have served on staff at Fairview.

Clara Springs Baptist Encampment -- We are actively involved and committed to the work of our area-wide Baptist Camp. Currently there are numerous activities for anyone to be involved in through the camp. We love to help sponsor one of the monthly Fourth Friday Fish Fry events. Our church staff also takes a yearly deacon/staff planning retreat in September. For more info you can go to the Clara Springs website.

Toledo Bend Baptist Resort Ministry -- This is a wonderful ministry to the Toledo Bend Lake area. We have volunteers from our church that are actively involved in the work of this vital ministry. You can learn more by following this link to their website.

Grand Bayou Lake Ministry -- We have a great opportunity through our local association to go out on a designated Saturday to the camping area of Grand Bayou Resort and pass out invitations for Sunday services that are offered for those camping on the lake. On Sundays, we lead a short worship service in the pavilion at the camping area at 9:00am.

Samaria Projects

West St. Tammany Baptist Mission -- We are actively pursuing involvement in the church planting movement that is going on in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. New Orleans is virtually relocating to the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain and there is a growing need for new churches to be started in this area. We are working closely with Lane Corley  who serves as a church planter and associate director of missions with the North Shore Baptist Associations.

International Students, Inc. -- Our church supports a local chapter of ISI and their work with international college students. We give monetary support, prayer, and encouragement to this vital ministry on the campus of Louisiana Tech University. Jeremy Scott serves as the director for this chapter and can be reached through their website.

KAIROS Prison Ministry
-- Our church helps support the work of KAIROS Prison ministry. Our prison ministry coordinator Jerry McWherter participates in and organizes these weekend ministry retreats to differenct facilities here in Louisiana.

LCIW Prison Ministry -- Several ladies in our church help pack personal hygiene boxes to take and distribute to the women incarcerated in the Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women in St. Gabriel, Louisiana. Every October they participate in this weekend Revival in the prison.

Ends of Earth Projects

Brasil  --Starting in the summer of 2009, we have joined Beyond the Walls Ministries and taken a team to travel with over 150 people to minister in the city of Belo Horizonte. This trip affords us many different mission opportunities including preaching, door-to-door evangelism, medical clinics, dental clinics, eye clinics, drama, prison ministry, and VBS.

Peru --In June of 2011 our church sent a team to work in an orphanage in Peru. They painted, did yardwork, cleaned, loved on the children and shared Jesus with those they encountered in Peru.

TEN --We partner with To Every Nation for trips to places like Peru and East Asia to do mission work and fulfill the Great Commission.

Shoebox ministry -- We participate each fall in the Samaritan's Purse Shoebox ministry that distributes shoe boxes full of toys, personal hygiene products, and gospel tracts to children in countries all over the world.

New Hope Radio Ministries --We support this world-wide satellite radio ministry that sends the gospel to the uttermost parts of the earth through the use of small portable satellite receivers.

Operation Christmast Child -- Each year we collect and pack shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. These shoeboxes then travel around the globe with the Gospel message.
